While he is particularly skilled in the areas of diabetes, hypertension and nutrition, he welcomes the opportunity to help you with any family medicine concerns.
Dr. Atkinson got into health care to help others. “I enjoy educating patients on medical issues and healthy lifestyles,” he said. “This allows them the opportunity to make educated decisions jointly with me on their medical care.”
“I talk to my patients about various forms of exercise and getting sunlight and fresh air,” he said. He can also discuss cooking-based nutritional ideas with you as the basis of a healthy lifestyle for your physical and mental health.
Dr. Atkinson earned a medical degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1999. He completed a family medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Tulsa in 2002. Before joining Utica Park Clinic, he cared for patients in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Dr. Atkinson’s personal interests include music, movies, cooking, reading, hiking/walking, traveling, learning new things and meeting new people.

I LOVE Dr. Atkinson. Been seeing him now for a few years and the longest I've ever had to wait for an appointment was next day, every other time he has fit me in same day. He is fast,friendly and his office is very clean. Nurse Lataza is the best also. She always remembers my name when she sees me. First good review I think I've ever had for a doctor!
