Aaron McGuire, D.O., has been in health care since 2012. He specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. “My favorite aspects of medicine involve the musculoskeletal system,” he said. “Physical medicine and rehabilitation encompasses a broad range of these topics and emphasizes how you interact with your environment. As your doctor, I will spend time with you during a dynamic period of your recovery, getting to know you and assisting you through the rehabilitation process.”

When treating you, Dr. McGuire will take your lifestyle into account. “I believe in caring for you the same way I would a family member,” he said. “I will discuss the rationale behind my recommendations so that you are engaged in your treatment and understand how to address your condition within the overall framework of your life.”

When teaching people how to get and stay healthy, Dr. McGuire has two pieces of advice. “The first is that you need to start where ever you are,” he said. “If that is little activity or a diet that needs to be adjusted, that’s okay but your idea of what you can accomplish in the short term has to be something concrete and achievable.”

“The second is, be it diet or exercise, it only works if you do it. There are numerous approaches that can lead to health and fitness improvements but they must be engaged with in order to be successful.”

When he is away from the office, Dr. McGuire enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, reading and following collegiate sports.
