About Felecia Smith, APRN-CNP

Felecia Smith, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic. “I earnestly care about the wellbeing of my patients and the community I serve. I grew up in Oklahoma and attended TU for my undergraduate studies and I feel very blessed to practice and give back to this great community,” she said.

Felecia’s journey into medicine came at an early time in her life. She said, “Since I was a child I have felt it was my passion and God’s calling in my life to help as many people as possible. My career allows me to do that in the most tangible way possible.”

After years of working in the acute care setting, Felecia realized she wanted to connect more with her patients. “I wanted the ability to collaborate with my patients, to aide them in preventing the disease processes that were getting them into the hospital in the first place. I believe in holistic, patient-centered care through education and disease prevention. I enjoy partnering with my patients to help them achieve their best possible quality of life and health care goals. As a family nurse practitioner, I am awarded the great pleasure of caring for patients across their lifespan from young children to the young at heart, as well as the family unit as a whole,” she said.

Felecia likes to build relationships with patients by simply talking not only about their health but about what interests them and their family. “By getting to know my patients and what is important to them as an individual I am better able to provide comprehensive care,” she said.

Felecia enjoys sharing with patients that, “Health is more than just the absence of disease, but a balance of spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing. The choices we make everyday impact the health we have tomorrow and by learning healthy lifestyle modifications today we can ensure a greater quality of life in the future.”

Outside of work, Felecia enjoys spending time with her husband and children, running, playing golf, volunteering at church and spending her weekends cheering on her kids from the sideline of a soccer field.
