About Machelle Stokes, APRN-CNP
Machelle’s drive to pursue a career in medicine began at the age of 13 when her father was electrocuted, changing the trajectory of her family, she said. “I watched as countless members of his medical team helped encourage him and support him along with our family through the healing journey and I vowed to be a part of that strength and hope for others one day,” she said.
When it came time to focus on a specialty, Machelle didn’t expect to end up in women’s health. She said, “I thought I would be in a completely different specialty while I was entering my last year of nursing school, and then I had an externship in labor and delivery. I was able to see the obstacles women have to endure to bring a life into this world, and I knew from that moment this was where I wanted to be. I want to help individuals, especially during their reproductive years to understand their bodies and how to advocate for themselves and their health.”
Comfort and connection are important factors for Machelle’s patients and their experiences. She said, “I pride myself on meeting patients where they are at. At the end of the day, we are all people trying to do our best, so I find in order to best connect and communicate with patients it is vital to be relatable, respectful, compassionate and empathetic.”
Advice that Machelle likes to remind and share with patients is to give yourself grace. “We will work as a team to get you where you need to be,” she said.
Outside of work, Machelle enjoys spending time with family, friends and her two dogs. She adds, “I have two miniature whoodles, Coco and Dior, that are my world. I’m also obsessed with finding bargains and redecorating.”

Just surprised there was no physical exam since this was the first time she saw me. However she mentioned a possible issue that no other provider has mentioned for 4 years.

Dr. Stokes is just the best. I don't have to worry ever if I have an appointment with her. She always makes sure I'm comfortable, she listens, and she explains things in a way you can understand.
-
We were all around very happy with our appointment!

Ms. Stokes was SO much better than the OBGYN I visited for my wellness women's exam many years ago! She was empathetic and actually spent time listening to what I said and asked follow up questions instead of making me feel like she was in a hurry to leave the room. She gave me a list of options which I wasn't aware of was available to me and very patient which I appreciated. She treated me with respect and dignity!

No complaints

Machelle was amazing! She listened to me, she addressed my concerns and she helped me decide the next steps for me! I'm very grateful for her compassionate care.
-
I really like her. She took the time to do a thorough exam and explain things very well to me. Much better than usual. Even at my age, that can be a lot of help with medical advances and procedures.
-
She was absolutely amazing. She has a warm friendly demeanor which was so soothing.

Michelle was very nice and listened to my questions or concerns I had and recommended any treatments I would need. She also informed me on signs to watch out for regarding breast cancer and when to consult a doctor if I am experiencing any of those symptoms. She was very informative throughout my well woman exam and answered any questions or concerns I had. Great experience at this location for my first time.

So nice and professional.
-
Both of them were very good about keeping me informed of what they were doing and I felt comfortable with them being in a very vulnerable situation was all right.

I have never had a provider actually sit down and listen to my concerns even before the exam started. She was very informative and understanding. It was like talking to an old friend.
