About Roger K. Pfeiffer, D.O.
Dr. Pfeiffer’s decision to become an OB-GYN provider happened early in his career while he was still in medical school and his wife had a baby. He was studying to become a trauma surgeon, something he decided on when he was just 12-years-old walking home from his first CPR class. He was instantly hooked on medicine and continued to follow his dream career of being a trauma surgeon until one day he changed course.
“My wife and I had our first child when I was in medical school,” he said. “I was still really focused on trauma surgery. Our experience was less than ideal, and I walked out of the hospital saying to myself, ‘I think I could do better than that.’ So, I changed emphasis and went to OB-GYN.”
Fast forward and now Dr. Pfeiffer has been a practicing OB-GYN since 2005.
He likes to build relationships with patients based on the simple foundation of listening, understanding and communication. “This all leads to trust and what is more important in this type of relationship?” He adds, “In the end of the day we are all people and want to be heard and respected.”
Dr. Pfeiffer says out of all the advice he likes to give his patients, the one to take away is, “We worry about what we can control. We play the cards we are dealt the best we can.”

I'm not sure how long a well woman visit is supposed to be, but it felt kind of rushed (in and out) when I had some questions I wanted to follow up on that never got addressed. I was able to force at least one question into the visit, but I was not asked if I had any questions or concerns which I did and still do since I wasn't able to voice them. I know doctors are busy with lots of patients so I try to come with questions prepared.

I have never felt so dismissed about symptoms during pregnancy in my life. I have been having chronic pain for weeks and he told me to drink more water and get a belly band. Has never even examined me or any tests even after I've been spotting. Is always in and out and very rushed

I felt a little unsure of aftercare instructions because there was a rush to catch up with all the patients who had been waiting. I thought I was supposed to receive a prescription, but none was called in.

Sometimes appts can feel a little rushed, but that's probably due to mine being late mornings on Fridays. I LOVE my Dr, that's the only minor thing I could say if I'm TRYING to find something to improve upon.
