Matthew Else, D.O., practices family medicine. His interest in medicine stemmed from a personal experience as a child. “I was involved in a traumatic accident at a young age that led me to rely on a team of doctors to get me back to my normal life,” he says. “This incident inspired me to pursue a career the medical field.”
Dr. Else enjoys creating lasting relationships. “By establishing long-term associations with my patients and their families, I am able to provide the best medical services possible,” he says. “A trusting physician-patient relationship leads to better outcomes.”
Dr. Else advises people to stay active and eat well in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. “It’s important to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day,” he says. “This can often seem like a daunting task so I sit down with people and discuss what activities would be feasible for them and how they can ease into a regular routine.”
Dr. Else received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 2011. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma State University in 2016. He earned a medical degree from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016. He completed a family medicine internship and residency at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in 2019.

I've been seeing Dr. Else for a few years now and he is truly one of the most caring, knowledgeable, and supportive primary care providers I've met. He takes the time to listen to you and work through things with you to make sure you understand what is going on, and never makes you feel inferior. I've always had to stay informed with the latest health recommendations, since as an LGBTQ+ patient my past providers hadn't kept up with newest recommendations for my community and I had to advocate for myself. But with Dr. Else, in our first few visits I learned so much and he showed he had clearly done his research and kept up with the newest data on treating the LGBTQ+ community. It is clear that he is a patient advocate. He also takes your complaints seriously and suggests actual solutions or testing instead of just blaming it on other conditions and not addressing it. His communication is top-tier and he makes you feel validated in your concerns, all without judgement, which is honestly hard to find in the healthcare field in my experience. I no longer dread going to primary care visits, and actually look forward to them because I feel like I walk away feeling better and more knowledgeable about my health. His team and support staff is also great and are just like him. Establish care with Dr. Else, you won't regret it!

First visit with Dr. Else and I was most impressed. He took the time to listen to me and address my concerns. Dr. Else provided me with good information in terms I could understand and we worked together to develop a plan to address my concerns. I hate changing doctors and it has been a bit of a struggle for me since my favorite doctor retired several years ago. I believe I have found my new PCP. Thank you Dr. Else!!

I just started seeing Dr Else as my PCP, and I can already tell that he will far exceed my expectations of any Dr I’ve had in the past. My labs were drawn the day of the visit and resulted the same day. He then was able to comment on each individual lab and tell me what was good or needed to change in order to correct the labs in the same day! He responds on MyChart within an hour or two every time I have a question or concern. Thank you Dr Else for being an excellent example of what a caregiver and provider should be!
