Jack Sommers, M.D., is board certified and has enjoyed practicing family medicine since 1981. “Good health is essential in just about every aspect of life,” he said. “There is nothing as challenging or rewarding as working with others to help them meet their health goals.”
Dr. Sommers has the education, training and experience to see your entire family. “I enjoy providing care through of each phase of a person's life, from children to adults and mature adults,” he said.
Dr. Sommers provides comprehensive care. “I enjoy caring for as many needs of a patient as possible within the realm of primary care,” he said. “I like taking care of the whole person.”
He will work with you on what is important to you. “We will build a care plan together to help you achieve your goals.” Expounding on that strategy, he said, “I believe in moderation with everything. That applies to work, play, food, exercise, etc. I also believe that to live a healthy life, you have to be proactive. You can't just expect it to happen.”
Dr. Sommers pursued a degree in pharmacy prior to his entry into medical school at the University of Oklahoma (OU). He received a medical degree from OU in 1981. He completed a residency at OU in 1984. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University in Tulsa in 1993. Dr. Sommers is a member of the American Medical Association, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the Tulsa County Family Practice Society, the American Academy of Family Practice (Fellow), the Oklahoma Academy of Family Practice and the Tulsa County Medical Society.
Dr. Sommers’ personal interests include tennis, reading, Bible study/discipleship, computers, stamp collecting and organic farming (cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens). He is a published song writer and author.
Unfortunately, Dr. Sommers is not accepting new patients at this time.

Dr. Sommer and his staff always treat me with the care that I would expect from a member of my family. They are very complete with every appointment and I never feel like I'm just another customer at a retail store. The complications of my health have been very difficult and Dr. Sommers his been with me every step of the journey to living a very fulfilling life today!
