Christopher Treat, D.O., is an Oklahoma native and an orthopedic physician. He is fellowship-trained in shoulders and hands and treats pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Treat practices general orthopedic surgery and has a subspecialty interest in hand and upper extremity care. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder, and microvascular reconstruction. Conditions he treats include trauma, arthritis, sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures and cysts, as well as peripheral nerve and vascular disorders.
Dr. Treat’s family was influential in his career choice. “I grew up in a medical family,” he explains. “I have always enjoyed the sciences and helping others.” During his third year of medical school, he was introduced to orthopedics. “It was love at first sight. Now, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Having the opportunity to help others overcome their orthopedic issues is a dream come true.”
Dr. Treat earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma in 2007. He received a medical degree at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa in 2011. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida in 2017. He completed a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute in Beachwood, Ohio in 2018. He completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2019.
Dr. Treat’s personal interests include music, sports, fishing and spending time with his family.

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Dr Treat and his care team. I was in constant pain due to severe arthritis that was exasperated by a motor cycle accident in 2022. Because of the reverse total shoulder I underwent in January of 2024, I am nearly pain free and on a fast track to full recovery. I highly recommend Dr Treat for any upper extremity surgery you may need.

Dr. Treat performed a reverse shoulder replacement surgery on me. He is without a doubt one of the best surgens in the state if not the nation. It has been 6 weeks and my recovery is going so well. He said I'm able to do things that most people do in 3 months. He informs you of everything you will experience before and after the surgery. He has a great sense of humor and a wonderful bedside manner. When my surgery was over he contacted my wife and informed her of everything. I tell everyone I meet with shoulder problems about him and give them one of his cards. Be sure and ask him about his kids. They are a special "treat".
