Nadir Ishag Osman, M.D., M.Sc., F.A.A.N., F.A.A.S.M., is board certified in neurology and sleep medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Prior to joining Utica Park Clinic and Hillcrest, he was the medical director at the EENA Comprehensive Neurology and Sleep Center, Inc. in Boynton Beach, FL.

Dr. Osman earned his medical degree at Kharkov State Medical University in Ukraine.  He worked in the West African country of Ghana before receiving a Master of Science degree in medical research and a graduate certificate in alcohol and substance abuse studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neurosciences, a residency in neurology and a fellowship in sleep medicine, all at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dr. Osman is a member of several honorary and professional societies including the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Association of Neuroscience and the American Medical Association. He has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and has made presentations on neurology and sleep medicine at national and international conferences and universities. Part of Dr. Osman’s research findings are currently incorporated in the curriculum being taught to the sleep medicine fellows at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Osman is active in the community, giving lectures and providing education on sleep and neurological disorders. He is also active internationally, periodically providing free care and education to the needy population in Africa. He also has established a neurology residency and clerkship program there that is available to students and residents.

Dr. Osman speaks fluent Russian and Arabic and adequately fluent Spanish. He enjoys teaching inpatient and outpatient neurology and sleep medicine disorders to medical students and residents.

Dr. Osman’s personal interests include spending time with his wife and two children, playing soccer, golf and chess. He also enjoys instrumental music and nature trail hiking.
