Kimberly Sorensen, D.O., specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) at Utica Park Clinic.
“Day one of my medical school rotations was in pediatrics and we had to attend a cesarean section. That day, I knew OB-GYN was what I wanted to do. I love working with new moms and women across their reproductive life span. I love being able to make a difference in the lives of these women and their families,” she said.
Before choosing OB-GYN as her career, her decision to become a doctor was one that happened early in her life. “When I was in middle school, my uncle was in medical school. I remember going through his different textbooks and deciding that I wanted to be a doctor,” Dr. Sorensen said.
Now, when it comes to building relationships with patients, she says, “Listening is key.” She emphasizes the importance of letting the patient tell their story and then to work together to formulate a long or short-term plan for the care that is needed. She adds, “Caring for people as I would want my daughters or mother treated.”
Dr. Sorensen’s advice to her patients is short and sweet, “Enjoy every moment.”
Dr. Sorensen’s education and experience includes:
• Residency in OB-GYN at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, 2002
• General rotating internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, 1998
• Medical degree at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM), 1997
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Oklahoma, 1989
Outside of caring for patients and welcoming new life into the world, Dr. Sorensen can likely be found enjoying game days in both Stillwater and Norman and spending time with her family. She said when patients come in for their appointment, they may be surprised by her humor, “I have a dry sense of humor and tell it like it is.”

Came here and they were absolutely amazing with me, Kimberly seemed to be very professional and super informative and makes you feel comfortable and open. This doctor I have not seen in almost 20 years Sterling a risky birth and cancer diagnoses at the same time and then having a hysterectomy and upon release from hospital became a widow within 24 hour upon leaving hospital I was very messed up at the time she helped with little notice for blown stitches and blown MIND she helped me when close friends and family were scared to attempted to comport me that being said she went above and beyond and although life damaged me she was there to do everything she could to mend me
