Harlan Stern, M.D., specializes in interventional pain management at Utica Park Clinic on the campus of Hillcrest Hospital South.
Dr. Stern enjoys building relationships with patients by speaking in simple, plain and relatable terms. He tries his best to make it understandable for all and avoid “doctor-speak,” he said.
He likes to remind patients that pain can take years to become chronic and sometimes it can take a while to get relief, so having patience is important in your healing journey.
Dr. Stern’s decision to pursue a career in medicine was inspired by his parents and family. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with them and relaxing with something good to read.
Dr. Stern’s education and experience includes:
• Residency in anesthesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), 2019
• Internship in internal medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), 2015
• Doctor of medicine (M.D.) degree from Tulane School of Medicine in Louisiana, 2015
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Delaware, 2005
