Darren Vargas, D.O., practices obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) and has been in health care since 2017. “I was driven to pursue health care by my love of science and my passion to help people,” he said. “Becoming a physician has allowed me to merge these two loves into a job that is constantly challenging me but also rewarding at the same time.”
Dr. Vargas chose to focus on OB-GYN because he enjoys being a part of such a special time in a woman’s life. “For me there is no greater joy and honor than taking care of women through their pregnancy,” he said. “The opportunity to walk side by side as you embark on the most exciting, scary and wonderful journey of your life is what called to me the most.”
Dr. Vargas practices in most areas of OB-GYN. He can assist you with anything from basic obstetrics to high-risk pregnancy to treating infertility. He performs various types of surgical procedures to correct abnormal uterine bleeding, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and more. “I focus on the entire person,” he said. “I’ll strive to make sure you feel heard and then together, we can formulate a health plan that accomplishes your health goals.”
Dr. Vargas received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 2010. He earned a medical degree from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. He completed an OB-GYN residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in 2021. Dr. Vargas serves as the medical officer for the Oklahoma National Guard.
When he is away from the office, Dr. Vargas enjoys spending time with his family, being outside, golfing, fishing, hunting and wood working.

There were some communication issues at first but over all Dr. Vargas listened to all my concerns before and after surgery. My incisions look great. His surgery team was wonderful from nurses to anesthesiologists.

He's delivered my second baby, I wish I could've had him for my first pregnancy too! he's very knowledgable and reassuring! I felt very comfortable even tho I usually prefer being seen by women. I have high anxiety and my experience went extremely well. I was able to have the birthing experience that I wanted and wouldn't have changed a thing. Highly recommend Dr Vargas! he was very positive, empathetic, and if I ever have another baby I'll be seeing him again!

Everyone in this office is just wonderful!! Dr Vargas is the best and his nurse Ruthie is also, from the front office to the back. Everyone is very kind and takes time with you, I would recommend this office very highly!! They are all the best!!

Dr. Vargas made me feel very comfortable with my procedure and answered any and all questions I had. Surgery was a little longer due to scar tissue. I would recommend him to anyone.
