About Katie Dalton, D.O.
Katie Dalton, D.O., specializes in pediatrics at Utica Park Clinic (UPC). Her key medical areas of interest include acute pediatric care, asthma and parenting/caregiver support.
Dr. Dalton’s journey into medicine began at the age of four when her family noticed her curiosity and care for others. Her parents gifted her a Fisher-Price doctor kit which helped spark her interest in learning about the human body. She said, “I decided at that young age that I wanted to work in the medical field where my curiosity and compassion would be a great match.”
The decision to become a pediatrician was one that didn’t take long to figure out. She said, “In college, I babysat quite a bit to help me pay for school and realized how much fun it is to work with children. Then in medical school, I loved my pediatric rotations. I enjoyed helping babies transition to earth side and seeing the innate resiliency and curiosity of children even with difficult medical issues.”
As Dr. Dalton continues to welcome new and returning patients to her office, she is always working on ways to connect with her patients. She said, “I love to listen to caregiver's and children's stories of needs and wants for their health and then to find ways to work together for solutions to their concerns.”
Some of her go-to advice she likes to remind others is, “Our kids don't need us to be perfect parents or caregivers. They just need us to be present with love, support and curiosity.”
Outside of work, Dr. Dalton enjoys hiking, reading, snuggling with her puppies and training in Tai Chi. She added, “I’m learning how and working on turning my backyard into a pocket prairie with native Oklahoma grasses and perennials.”
