About Chrissi Martin, APRN-CNP
Chrissi Martin, APRN-CNP, MBA, specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic. Her professional areas of interest include working with patients to control diabetes and hypertension.
She applies the golden rule to all aspects of her life, including her interactions with patients. “I treat my patients the way I’d like myself or my family to be treated,” she explains. “My goal is to make sure that each patient receives the best possible care that I can provide. It is important to listen and treat the whole person not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.”
Chrissi has been a health care professional since 1995. Before joining UPC, she was a nursing instructor at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology for seven years and has worked as a nurse practitioner at other local health care facilities in Tulsa. “I love all aspects of health care and I particularly enjoy working with the geriatric population,” she says. “Geriatric patients are full of life experiences and I enjoy listening to their perspectives on health care. They are often grounded on common sense and experience, and we can all learn from that wisdom.”
Chrissi chose to practice family medicine because she enjoys caring for a wide variety of people. “I incorporate health practices into each patient’s cultural and spiritual beliefs,” she explains. “Change is hard for any of us, but small changes can lead to big rewards. By incorporating health practices into a patient’s belief system and values, they can be more successful in adopting a healthy lifestyle.”
“I could never see myself doing anything but caring for patients,” she continues. “As a child, I helped care for my elderly grandparents and loved doing that. I’ve been providing care for others ever since.”
Outside of work, Chrissy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, going to church, and spending time with her sisters and all of her nieces and nephews. For more information about Chrissi, including the insurance plans she accepts call 539-399-3410.
