About Andrew Barker, M.D.
While Dr. Barker welcomes the opportunity to assist you with any form of pain management, the large majority of pain that he treats is related to spine or other musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis or muscular pain.
Dr. Barker chose to enter the field of pain management for personal reasons. “Like so many others, my family has been significantly impacted by chronic pain,” he explains. “Based on my family's experience, I believe that there is room for improvement in the way we manage pain and I want to be part of that solution.”
Dr. Barker encourages his patients to stay active and take an active role in their health. “When someone experiences pain, it is common for them to limit activities that cause any degree of discomfort,” he says. “But deconditioning occurs rapidly and once it happens, there is a very long journey to regaining those abilities.”
His personal interests include involvement with his church and being a husband and father. He also enjoys playing the guitar and following Kansas Jayhawk basketball.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Barker and his care. He treated my neck pain a handful of years ago and was exceptional then. I'm now being treated again and I knew if I could just get back in to see him, he would listen and HEAR me about my pain and concerns. He is such a validating caregiver.
