Xuyen Ha, D.O., specializes in family medicine. “I chose family medicine because it provides the broadest area of knowledge and I’m able to help the greatest number of people from the beginning of birth to the end of life,” said Dr. Ha.
Dr. Ha began to study medicine after wrapping up his military career that lasted nearly 10 years with the air force. “I believe that God called on me to serve others,” he said. This mission guided him to join as the number of troops in the middle east surged in 2007. Dr. Ha feels the calling has led him to continue his service as a physician with hopes to be able to train and teach the next generation of doctors.
Dr. Ha says that when working with patients, he emphasizes the importance of shared decision making. "Not all treatments, exercise regimens or diets is going to work for each individual patient," he said. His goal is to work with patients, to work as a team to come to an agreement and set achievable health goals.
When Dr. Ha is not working at the clinic, he can be found gardening or tending to his fruit trees. One day, he hopes to take his calling and skills of serving others to countries and people who need the assistance.
Dr. Ha’s education and experience includes:
• Residency in family medicine at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS), 2022
• Doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS), 2019
• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology at the University of Oklahoma (OU), 2015
• United States Air Force aircraft mechanic, 2007-2016

My 85yr. Old father who is on average a fan of no one.., absolutely likes Dr. Ha. I was so impressed by his no roses bull crap as is my dad we couldn't be more happy that we found such a great doctor for my father's primary care provider. When I told Dr. Ha that I was short of breath just walking to my mailbox and that I thought something was wrong with my heart he immediately listened to my heart and, although nothing seemed to be wrong, he ordered a stress test. I had been made to feel like a nuisance by my previous doctor for the same problem. I feel that Dr. Ha saved my life because the stress test showed a real problem and a follow up catheterization showed a 100% blockage of the left anterior descending artery necessitating a double bypass.
