Kendra Round, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic.
Kendra has known since she was a young adult that she wanted to work in health care as a nurse. As she worked her way through her bachelor’s degree and began her first job in the intensive care unit (ICU), she then realized she wanted to further her abilities in caring for others by becoming a nurse practitioner.
Kendra continues to deliver care to patients from all different backgrounds. From children to adults, she finds comfort in being a primary care provider.
“I chose family medicine because I felt like it made me a more well-rounded provider and after a time I could specialize if I wanted. I have enjoyed working in primary care for my 11 years as an APRN and feel it is where I belong,” she said.
Kendra makes a conscious effort to listen to her patient's concerns. She puts respect at the forefront of her practice, adding, “I treat them with respect as I would expect to be treated as a patient.”
Kendra’s education and career experience includes:
• Master of Science in nursing (MSN) degree from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, 2012
• Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree at Northeastern State University (NSU) in Muskogee, OK, 2010
• Associate degree in applied science as a registered nurse (RN) at Connors State College in Warner, OK, 2008
• Associate degree as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Connors State College in Warner, OK, 1998
• Associate degree in social work at Connors State College in Warner, OK, 1994
Outside of work, Kendra enjoys running the farm with her husband and watching her son participate in his extracurricular activities.
