Shantel Bolton, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic.
She chose to practice family medicine because of the variety of patients and diseases she gets to care for each day.
When it comes to her patients and building relationships, she makes it a point to listen to each concern and question by giving them her undivided attention. “I make sure the patient knows that I am listening and cares about what they are going through,” she said.
Shantel’s inspiration to become a nurse developed while caring for her mom’s declining health. She said, “I wanted to be able to understand what was going on with her health.”
Now, as a provider, the advice she shares with patients is to, “Always try and be an advocate for your health by working together with your provider.”
Shantel’s education and career experience include:
• Master of Science in nursing (MSN) degree from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, 2018
• Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree from Langston University in Tulsa, OK, 2008
Outside of work, Shantel enjoys spending time with her two daughters and grandson and traveling.
