Sheri Burson, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine. “I chose this as my focus because family nurse practitioners have the ability to care for people of all ages from their first breath to their last,” she said. “I enjoy caring for individuals at every stage of their life, as well as having the unique ability to care for the entire family unit as a whole.”
Sheri’s journey into health care began in 1995 when she decided to join the military after high school. “I have always felt moved to help people, but health care was a God thing. God led me to join the military after high school.” She added, “I started in the Air Force as a medic and continued along the health care path after I got out of the military. I went on to become a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse and finally a nurse practitioner.”
Now, after years of experience ranging from the emergency room (ER) to family medicine, Sheri values her skills of compassion and empathy the most when caring for her patients. “I strive to treat my patients and their family members how I would want myself and loved ones to be treated and cared for,” she said.
When it comes to staying healthy, Sheri encourages her patients to work toward balance in all things – spiritual, mental and physical for a healthy lifestyle.
Sheri’s education includes:
• Medical Journeyman Medic/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Sheppard AFB/Lackland AFB in Texas, 2000
• Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) at the University of Oklahoma (OU), 2003
• Master of Science in nursing (MSN) at University of Oklahoma (OU) Health and Science Center, 2010
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification at American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, 2010
Outside of working at the clinic, Sheri enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, trying and cooking new foods, exercising and watching movies.
She welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans at:

Sheri has a great attitude and genuine concern for her patients. Her exams are thorough. She shows genuine interest in her patients. My husband, Garry, is retired Air Force and appreciates her knowledge of medicine. She is ahead of the game when finding other health issues. We'll be sticking with her as long as she's in SS.
