Jenna Specht, PA-C, specializes in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery at Utica Park Clinic and Hillcrest Medical Center. Her professional areas of interest include gastroenterology, cardiology and sports medicine.
Jenna’s inspiration to pursue a career in medicine started with her mother, a nurse of more than 30 years who introduced her to what a physician assistant (PA) is. As Jenna’s education and experience evolved, it eventually became time to narrow down a specialty. She prioritized her values in the decision by “focusing on what matters most,” she said. Patient care is something she doesn’t want to lose sight of amid challenging medical conditions. By being surrounded by individuals of the HPB and other subspecialty teams allows her to continually learn each day and apply her values.
Now, as Jenna provides care and builds on connections, she makes sure to sit and listen to the patient and families. “There is something new to learn every day which ultimately can improve treatment outcomes with trusting communication,” she said.
Jenna’s education and career experience include:
• Master’s degree in physician assistant (PA) studies at Oklahoma City University, 2020
• Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology at North Dakota State University, 2017
• Urgent care provider
• Gastroenterology endoscopy technician
• Cardiology diagnostic technologist
• Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
• Certified nurse assistant (CNA)
Outside of work, Jenna enjoys camping, watching the WNBA and playing guitar.
