Justin Sailo, D.O., specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic. His professional areas of interest include preventive care, chronic illnesses, caring for patients cradle-to-grave, whole-person-care and caring for underserved populations. He is fluent in Spanish, and multiple ethnic languages from Burma/Myanmar. “Among the ethnic languages from Burma/Myanmar, I am most proficient in Mizo, but I do understand and speak Zomi, Falam, Hakha and Burmese to varying degrees,” said Dr. Sailo.

Dr. Sailo chose to work as a family medicine provider because he enjoys building and maintaining longitudinal relationships with his patients and even extending that care to an entire family. He said, “In family medicine, I like that I have the ability to treat a broad range of pathologies and there's always something new and interesting to learn.”

Dr. Sailo values the connections he gets to create and grow with his patients. He believes it to be an immense privilege to earn the trust of patients. He adds, “I like to find common ground and interests with my patients to develop relationships with them. I find that actively listening to patients and asking genuine follow-up questions helps patients feel comfortable to share whatever is on their mind.”

When it comes to sharing advice, Dr. Sailo says, “As a physician, I aim to come alongside patients and empower them through health care education, guidance and medical therapy when needed for them to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.”

Outside of work, Dr. Sailo enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He adds, “As a family, we enjoy attending church, spending time with our friends and extended family, and trying new ethnic cuisines. I also enjoy cycling, playing golf, playing soccer and fishing.”
